Brecon Jazz Festival 2025: A New Era of Jazz in the Beacons

A passionate new team of Brecon-based volunteers is carrying the torch for the iconic Brecon Jazz Festival, bringing fresh ideas and exciting plans to expand its impact on Brecon, Wales, and the broader UK jazz scene. The main Festival weekend will take place from 8th to 10th August 2025, with a special ‘Springtime Springboard for Jazz’ launch event in April—details to come soon!

This year, the Festival will showcase world-class jazz performances across a variety of venues, including the legendary Market Hall stage, which will once again host some of the biggest names in contemporary jazz. Other intimate and atmospheric settings include The Muse (80-seat capacity), The Guildhall (180-seat capacity), and Theatr Brycheiniog(400-seat capacity).

The streets of Brecon will come alive with vibrant outdoor stages, bringing incredible jazz performances to thousands of visitors in the heart of this historic market town. With acts being finalized and tickets available soon, why not plan a summer escape to the breathtaking Bannau Brycheiniog National Park. Whether for a weekend or a longer stay, the Festival promises unforgettable music and stunning scenery.

It was a pleasure to play at Brecon Jazz 2024. The reception and ambience were amazing. Our music is, let's just say, a little bit niche. But the promotors and audience all embraced and trusted myself and Gaz Williams to tickle their earlobes with some sonice vibrations. Can't wait to come back as an artist and as a visitor. A unique festival in a beautiful and welcoming part of the country.

Fantastic gig last night at Brecon's Guildhall as part of the Brecon Jazz Festival. Incredible playing from Ursula Harrison and Liz Exell. Nice to meet Ursula's mum, Paula Gardiner, after the gig.

This was an enjoyable set of straight ahead jazz performed by some of South Wales’ most popular jazz musicians and it was very well received by the Brecon audience. Although there was nothing overly adventurous here this was perfect musical fare for a laid back Sunday afternoon.
