Established in 2010, Brecon Jazz Club brings top‐tier jazz to the heart of the town every month. In our intimate, candlelit venue you’ll hear everything from straight‐ahead swing to cutting‐edge contemporary improv, all alongside a warm community atmosphere.

PLAY JAZZ with YsgolJazz/JazzSchool - Instrumental Jazz Workshop led by Tutor Gethin Liddington
Tutor and bandleader Gethin Liddington is a leading figure in Welsh jazz and a highly experienced educator. This inclusive workshop welcomes all instruments and skill levels, focusing on well-known jazz standards (titles shared in advance). Participants will enjoy playing together, supported by a professional jazz rhythm section.

Trumpeter Chris Hodgkins is joined by vocalist Humie Webbe and guitarist James Chadwick for a session blending words and music. They'll reflect on Cardiff’s jazz clubs of the 1970s and 80s, highlighting key figures like the late guitarist Vic Parker—some of whom helped shape the origins of Brecon Jazz Festival. Audience members are invited to share memories as we celebrate Wales' jazz scene, past and present.

In the months leading up to the August festival, locals of all ages—artists, creatives, and Brecon residents—gather to plan the festivities, design unique parade displays, and organise workshops for children and families, welcoming both locals and visitors to join in the excitement!
From brass bands and drummers to dancers and creative costumes, the Frazz Parade is where jazz meets carnival, setting an energetic tone for the weekend’s festivities. Whether you want to march, dance, or simply cheer from the sidelines, everyone is welcome to join the celebration.
