Bigger Picture is a project conceived in Berlin, centred around the compositions of Tobias Bech and Laurie Rich. Inspired by a plethora of influences including modern jazz, ambient and folk, the compositions of the duo come together to create a warm and inviting performance to open the Young Artists Stage.

Klara Devlin is a rising star of the UK Jazz Scene and finalist in 2024’s BBC Young Jazz Musician. She brings her quartet from London to perform in Wales for the first time. Expect a dazzling display of improvisational talent, strongly rooted in the jazz trumpet canon.

Pianist Ben Shankland plays his original compositions, playful and melodic, and strongly rooted in the jazz tradition. Ben is the winner of the Scottish Young Jazz Musician 2024 and recently completed an exchange programme at the Jazz Institute Berlin.

Fresh off success in Norway and Denmark, the duo have made their mark in the UK scene this year with Nils appearing in the final of the BBC Young Jazz Musician and Em performing at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club.
